York Hospital Park & Ride

Our HSB Park & Ride bus, which connects Rawcliffe Bar and York Hospital, will no longer operate from 1 April when the current contract ends.

The last operating day for the service will be Friday 31 March.

The other bus options available locally, which have stops near the hospital are:

• Rawcliffe Bar P&R (Service 2) drops off and picks up close to Bootham, which is a 10-15 minute walk from the hospital site   
• Service 6 picks up and drops off on Wigginton Road outside the hospital
• Services 1, 5, 5A all stop on Clarence Street which is a 5 minute walk from the hospital

Services run every 20 minutes between 6am and 8:30pm with tickets costing £3.60 return (£1.50 return if you have a valid hospital staff pass). All you have to do is park on site at Rawcliffe Bar and catch the bus at the dedicated Hospital Park and Ride bus stand opposite the terminal building, tickets can be purchased through our First Bus App.

What happens if I can’t get back to my car before the P&R site closes?

The Rawcliffe Bar P&R site closes at 11pm. There is no overnight parking and fines are in operation. If a passenger cannot get back to their vehicle in time, then they need to ring the hospital switchboard - (01904) 631313 – and they will be put through to the site manager who will ensure their vehicle is noted and exempt.
